Voice thread

I could go both ways on the idea of using a voice thread. I mean it is neat and interactive, but could cause the students to talk more than watch the actual video. I can see were it would great for students to be able to talk to each other to help better understand what is going on. PLus they would be able to use this since they already use myspace and facebook to talk to each other. I just feel that it would get abused and they would be talking to wach other about things other then the video. This could harm the other students in the clkass trying to listen to it.

Publisher

I think that publisher is great program. It lays out things for you that you may not have known. As far as the resume it gave you step by step instructions. The brochure was neat, because it gives you the ability to be creative and see maybe how we will actually let the students parents know a little about us. I have had a little experience with publisher so I found it very easy to use and enjoyable. If I had to create something and wanted to use publisher I would probably make a banner. The banner of course would have something to do with what the lesson was over for that time period. I think the banner would be kinda of catchy and noticeable.

Just another blog

Well the closer the technology that is in the curriculum to the technology that students use the better. It gives a upper hand to the students and skips the step of having to figure it out. This makes for a better learning experience as for a better teaching assignment too.
I feel that instant messaging is not a good idea, because we had that capability in my high school and it just ends up being a waste of time for the students. They end up just messaging each other and not getting work done. They can already text each other and they are going to anyways so do not make it even easier for them. I could see where it would help if used the right way, but feel that it would more or less be abused by the students.
I still do not understand what asynchronous communication is. So I will skip that one. As far as text based communication I already stated that in the classroom I feel it would do not good. In the work world yes it would be great, but that is what emails are for. Face to face communication if you have the ability to I believe is the best way to do it. I understand that this is not always the situation and that text has to be the answer. Face to face is more interactive.
I think that pod cast has the ability to be a good teacher, but brings me back to the face to face interaction being better. The pod cast works great for people that can not get the information from another source or need a further explanation of something that they feel they teacher can not give them. I could see though people not listening with their full attention when watching on a electronic device.
I do not believe that video games help in any way with learning. This is not true. I played video games as a kid educational or not, they are addictive. I play now even when I know I should not. I feel that they will take away from things that you should other wise be doing. I would not let my kid play video games as much as they want, but maybe a set time amount per day would be okay. Like I said education games are no different then regular games. You start out with educational video games and when you grow up turns into shooting games that have you play many hours a day.

Delicious

I can not say for sure whether or not I will ever use this website. I can however say that right now I do not use it. It is very useful, if you blog though. For people liek me that do not the site does not have all that much to offer. The site is very big and I noticed that in the upload clicker it had 249 in the last hour which is great. It has a lot to sift through and decide which one you would like to use. Just maybe not for me.

Spreadsheet

I felt that spreadsheet was very helpful. Though it would take some time to learn how to use it fast and to its full potential. In the classroom it could be used to make a schedule both for the teacher and for the students. So that they know what they will be working on for that day and if they missed would know what they need to ask about. As far as for your grade book it makes it so much easier to do calculations. The formulas already programed in would help out so much, so the teacher can spend their time doing more useful things then adding up grades. I would use it like I said in the classroom because it could help out and save time for me to work on other things. Since the computer can do grades more precisely it makes more official when entering in the grades of a student which is very important.

Inspiration

I found insperation to very great program. I had never seen or even heard of it. Just by watching the tour video anyone can see how helpful this program can be to either students or teachers. It would make so many thing easier. Rather than having to make a syllibus in outline form and then type other things up, the program saves you time by developing all of them at once. So it could save so much time when making lesson plans.

For a student having to write a paper this is very helpful. It has the "rapid fire" option to where they can brame storm and typing things up very quickly while just hitting enter starts a whole new thought. It could help in ever aspect. Just as I mentioned in the first paragraph the fact that this one program takes care of so much of a project is amazing. Students would not have to struggle so much with an outline when it takes care of it for them. As far as peer feedback that is why we are learning how to do a blog since it makes a easy way of communicating back and forth. Technology is here to benefit us and really in any aspect of work make it easier and much faster. Though writing is important, emails and blogs are much eaiser and faster. Like you said time is very important in teaching and any technology advances help.

My qusetions response

Well, this would be the first blog I ever done. So as far as I am concerned blogs are not all important to my everyday life. Not that I do not think they are useful, but as it pertains to me I do not have a need to. I think as far as educationally speaking, they could very useful. As Tyson covered as a teacher it helps to talk to the parents. Anything the parents of the children need to know is right there for them to look at. I thought his discussion on the lesson for the day be posted was a great idea. Make the child think about the lesson even after school, helps it keep it fresh on his mind. Also shows the kids that their parents are taking notice to what they are learning and to them as a student. As far as the students go, it could do nothing but help. As he talked about, students that lost there paperwork could go on there and look at it and print it off. I can remember countless times when I was in high school alone that I lost paper work and ended up not doing it and taking the zero. Like I said it seems to be useful all across the bored as for the students and parents of the children. Technology has continued to grow and help out in any aspect of life, so why not in the education department. I do not see the reason to say it is a waste of time in the classroom, it is all done after class. I believe that it takes some of the stress off the teachers as far as responsibility of homework and lessons. So that the student can not deny do something that day in class, if on the blog online it is saying the opposite.
